A Bold New Era for Gielinor’s Homemakers
Today marks a historic milestone for RuneScape players. As part of Jagex’s ongoing 25th Anniversary Road to Restoration roadmap, the developer has officially launched its highly anticipated Player-Owned Housing (POH) update. This massive update completely overhauls the Construction skill, elevating the level cap to 120, and introduces an unprecedented suite of customization tools, shared spaces, and quality-of-life utilities that will change how players live in Gielinor forever.
Build Your Dream Home: Unprecedented Customization
For years, RuneScape’s housing system felt static, but today’s update blows the doors wide open. Players now have access to over 650 decorative items, five unique house styles, flexible room layouts, and a free-form furniture placement system. No longer bound by strict grids, you can finally design a space that reflects your unique personality. From choosing custom flooring and furniture skins to setting the perfect mood with a personal Jukebox or installing a Weather Vane to control the local atmosphere, the creative options are virtually limitless.
Introducing Shared Homesteads: Live With Friends
Perhaps the most exciting addition is the debut of Homesteads. Players can now team up with up to five friends to build a shared community. You can move seamlessly between neighbors’ homes, use the specialized facilities they’ve built, and collaborate to design a neighborhood that showcases your group’s collective achievements. It is a massive step forward for the game’s social dynamics.

A Museum of Your Achievements
Your adventures across Gielinor deserve to be celebrated. The update adds new Achievement and Collection features, allowing you to showcase your hard-earned spoils. Proudly display your weapon collection, Boss Trophies, and Archaeological discoveries in dedicated cases. You can also show off your skill progress on a Skillscape Stand or place your most prized cape on a new Prestigious Cape Stand.
Power Up with Next-Level Utility Features
Beyond aesthetics, your new home serves as the ultimate prep station for your next adventure. Jagex has introduced critical new utility rooms and features to streamline your gameplay:
- Travel Hub: Consolidate your teleports with the Teleport Nexus, store your jewelry in the Jewelry Box, and quickly access Daemonheim via the Dungeoneering Monolith.
- Combat Prep: Get ready for battle with Potion, Combo, and Tea Cauldrons, an Armour Repair stand, and a mini War’s Restoration crystal.
- Better Storage: Keep your hoard organized with dedicated trunks for costumes, toys, treasure, armor, and even an aquarium.
- Skilling Support: Use expanded crafting stations and Lecterns to craft magic tablets and support your other active skills.

Construction Reaches Level 120
To tie this all together, the Construction skill cap has officially been raised to Level 120. Players can engage with a brand-new furniture crafting system, offering both active and passive training methods. As you progress through the levels, you will unlock new blueprints, room layouts, community bonuses, and prestige rewards that prove your mastery of the craft.
The Player-Owned Housing update is live today. RuneScape is free-to-play with cross-platform progression across PC, Steam, iOS, and Android. Check out the latest developer diary trailer to see these beautiful new homes in action!
