XD Games has officially unveiled the latest season for its popular action-RPG, Torchlight: Infinite. Titled SS13 Afterlight, the upcoming update is set to launch on July 16, 2026, bringing a suite of fresh mechanics, challenging endgame content, and a transformative new Hero Trait.
Become a Night Watcher
The core gameplay loop for the new season centers on the ‘Night Watcher’ mechanic. Players will navigate the Netherrealm, lighting lanterns to initiate funeral processions for departed souls. The challenge lies in protecting these processions from swarms of enemies. A clever color-coded system—ranging from green for optimal efficiency to red for high-danger combat zones—will inform players on how well they are managing the battlefield and their loot potential.
Players can also trigger special golden encounters and veteran coffins, which offer high-stakes challenges with denser enemy spawns in exchange for superior rewards.
New Endgame and Hero Updates
Replacing the previous City Defense mode, Divine Ascent arrives as the new endgame test. This mode pushes player builds to their limits with a frantic three-minute time limit, requiring tactical clearing of enemies and events to unlock floor bosses.
Furthermore, Tide Whisper Selena receives a massive overhaul with the Dance of the Deep Hero Trait, allowing her Terra skills to move with her for a more dynamic and mobile combat experience.
